Koh Chang Hospital is the main hospital of Koh Chang island. Residence here appreciate the fact that it is run efficiently by a group of very talented and experienced staff. Administrator of the hospital is Dr. Parinya Podang and Head Nurse is Walapon Prichawong. It is a very clean and progressive facility which continually strives to improve their services and equipment. They have X-ray, Ultrasound, Delivery Room, Ambulances and even a fully featured Dental Clinic. To my surprise they have a Hyperbaric Chamber in case a diver gets the bends. Of course foreigners are welcome. Fees are very moderate compared to the same facilities in another country. Koh Chang Clinics are Government run institutions that are situtaed in key points around the island. All the staff are totally dedicated and take their jobs very seriously with a sense of professionalism that makes them unique. Invariably the service and care is excellent. If you have a major problem then it is advisable to take a long a Thai interpretor because they have limited English language skills. Most clinics have a comprehensive pharmacy that is usually less expensive than the pharmacies you find in the retail sector.
