Well it's been a long trip but your finally here
Welcome to Koh Chang ! Now the ferry ride (55 baht for a forty minute ride) has been great but this is what it's all about ... Koh Chang at last. Page through the pictures on the left window and you will see that there are toilets on the left side, ticket booking office next to the road and a taxi parking area straight ahead. Also there are a convenient set of little stores here that sell everything from dried squid to beer. Further along at the T section. Left side of the road goes to Salak Pet and the right goes to White Sand Beach where the majority of resorts are located. If you have already booked a major resort or a tour with KBAIC then this is the place where you will be met.

Yes like the song, this road brings back a lot of great memories to those who have been to Koh Chang before. After you leave the ferry and are out of the taxi area your journey starts in earnest. Keep your head (as tired as it maybe) glued to the scenery around you because there is a lot to see in this National Park. As a protected island it retains much of the jungle fauna and flora that was once prevalent all over Thailand before it got modernised. All that aside this road is an experience unto to itself. Sharp bends, impossible curves, steep drops and fantastic views from dizzy heights literally thrust themselves at you as you make your way towards civilization. Your adventure has begun. Eeeeeeee !

Located on the road to Kae Bai is one of the most frequented and beautifull views on the island. Maintained by the tourist police themselves this spot offers all the modern conveniences in a superb setting. Plenty of space to park your car or motorcycle, clean toilets and a huge sunami warning tower predominates here. In the old days there were a lot street vendors selling barbecued squid, beer and tea but now they have been chased away to make the place more presentable. It's a shame because they gave the place a great Asian ambiance and charm not to mention the fact that they served really cold beer.
